Enrollment of the property in a forest carbon project diversified investment revenue and demonstrated ATP’s sustainability commitment to its pensioners.

Part of the effort to conserve Maine’s storied 100-Mile Wilderness, Finite was honored to assist with the acquisition of Silver Lake by leveraging conventional sources of conservation finance with carbon offset revenue.

One of the nation’s first multi-owner compliance forest carbon projects. Using a working forest conservation easement and carbon operating agreement, LRCT and a private family demonstrated how joining forces can enable smaller forest owners to access carbon markets. The project’s carbon operating agreement was generously underwritten by a Doris Duke Climate Change Initiative funded grant through the Land Trust Alliance.
