In 2017, Lyme purchased the Logan property with an existing forest carbon project. Actively managed under the FSC certification program, the New Markets Tax Credits program financed the establishment of a logging business using winch-assist harvesting technology on the property’s steep slopes. Winch-assist systems make logging jobs safer and higher-paying, reduce soil compaction and erosion, and support quality silviculture.
