Daniel Crawford, RF

Daniel manages, motivates, and leads Finite Carbon’s commercial teams (and initiatives) including forest carbon project origination, marketing, and credit sales. Prior to his current role, Daniel served as Finite Carbon’s Senior Commercial Director and Director of Acquisitions. Before joining Finite Carbon, he was an employee-owner of Resource Management Service (RMS) supporting a variety of client-facing investment management and business development functions. During his time in these roles, Daniel managed a multi-national timberland fund with assets in Australia, New Zealand, China, and Brazil, and contributed to $1+ billion in new capital raised for investment into the forestland asset class. Daniel also served as a Forest Analyst for RMS and Hancock Forest Management working to improve the efficiency and efficacy of silvicultural operations across several millions of acres of private forestland investments. Daniel began his career as a Timberland Appraiser for James W. Sewall Company completing annual valuation updates for timberland assets in the continental US, Brazil, and Uruguay. Daniel is a Registered Forester in Alabama and received a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Auburn University.

Jordan Golinkoff, PhD

Jordan Golinkoff, PhD

Jordan Golinkoff is Finite Carbon’s Senior Director of Research and Development. Based in Oakland, CA, Jordan leads the science and engineering effort to develop large scale estimates of carbon stored in forests driven by remote sensing data. Prior to joining Finite, Jordan worked as a data scientist focused on quality at both SiriusXM/Pandora and Apple.

Before entering the tech world, Jordan worked for 10 years developing forest carbon offset projects with the Conservation Fund. Jordan has experience developing data visualizations and models at scale. Jordan’s PhD in forestry from the University of Montana focused on developing wall-to-wall estimates of carbon stocks by leveraging high resolution imagery, LiDAR and inventory plot data. He holds a B.A. Computer Science, Yale University, a M.F. Nicholas School, Duke University, and a Ph.D. Forestry, University of Montana.

Outside of work, Jordan is likely spending time with his three young kids, on the tennis court, or doing a project in the garden.

David Stevenson, RPF

David Stevenson, RPF

David Stevenson is Finite Carbon’s Director of Canadian Operations. He has been a professional forester in Canada for over 20 years and has worked with industry, consultants, and government. David joined Finite from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment where he led climate and offset policy development. While with the Saskatchewan Forest Service David led forest policy development, forest management planning, and forest renewal. David is a past President of the Saskatchewan Association of Forestry Professionals and is an active participant with the Canadian Institute of Forestry and the Society of American Foresters.

Dave holds an Honours bachelor’s of Science in Forestry and master’s of Science in Forestry from Lakehead University, Ontario Canada.

Outside of the office David is an avid gardener who cans his bounty. He also supports his daughter’s soccer dreams, and is known to bore people with a little too much information on wood decay fungi.

Dan Van Ostenbridge

Dan Van Ostenbridge

Dan Van Ostenbridge is Finite Carbon’s Director of Digital Platforms. He is based in our Philadelphia headquarters and has been doing technology implementation and IT management for more than 35 years. He oversees the design, development, and operation of technology platforms that support carbon offset projects. His previous experience includes positions with Accenture, Comcast, TV Guide and United BioSource. He has also held numerous IT strategy and leadership positions as an independent contractor and with firms such as aligne, inc., and Anexinet. Dan holds a B.A. in economics from Lafayette College.

Outside of work Dan enjoys playing golf, following college sports and grilling on the Big Green Egg.

Jazmín Varela

Jazmín Varela

Jazmín Varela is Finite Carbon’s Director of Landowner Relations. She oversees the operations team for the CORE Carbon digital platform. She works closely with our various teams that are collectively responsible for delivering and scaling up of our digital platform for natural climate solutions.

Before joining Finite Carbon, Jazmín served as Assistant Director of Integrative Services at The Conservation Fund, where she led project development across various teams working to provide communities access to conservation tools. Her role also included lead designer and delivery of Green Infrastructure Plans across the country. She received a master’s of Environmental Management from Duke University and bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University. Jazmín lives in North Carolina with her daughter and spends her free time riding bikes, running, gardening, and walking her dog.
