The Northeast Carry Woodlands are a portion of over one million acres of timberland in the storied North Maine Woods owned by the Peter Buck family. The family has assembled its ownership over the last decade through multiple strategic purchases with the intent to hold the property for future generations and be good stewards of the land over the long term. Carbon revenue enables the family to conservatively manage their forest well below annual growth leading to more mature forests and carbon sequestered relative to regional common practice.
