The L.D. O’Rourke Foundation is based in Humboldt County in northern California and owns 3,000 acres of mature Douglas-fir and Sitka spruce forest. The land is managed with a focus on wildlife habitat, water quality, and sustainability, and the L.D. O’Rourke Foundation will use the carbon revenue to enhance its mission of providing community services and housing to sick and elderly members of the local community.
