Natural Resource Partners Dingess-Rum
overview
The Dingess Rum project consists of 38,894 acres of forestland in West Virginia. Historical land uses within the project area include mineral extraction, timber production, and outdoor recreation. The project area is currently zoned as multiple use to support a wide variety of land use objectives. Conservative management will lead to increased carbon stocks in the project area compared to regional common practice. If harvesting occurs in the future, such harvesting activities may include longer rotations relative to the area with reduced harvest intensity. Longer rotations and greater retention will be used to gradually increase forest-wide stocking relative to a common practice baseline.
