overview

The Appalachian Carbon Exchange (ACE) project is comprised of a cohort of land trusts in the southeast United States who rely on transitory funding sources to steward their land. This results in consistent pressure on the land trusts to sell and/or intensively harvest for organizational stability, thereby jeopardizing their sustainable forestry practices. Recognizing the unique goals of ACE, to create an aggregated project consisting of various forest tracts and ownerships, Finite Carbon leveraged our project development experience while assisting the land trusts to conserve working forests, providing programmatic services, advising on overall approach, origination, development, and project management.
