Consulting Foresters

Finite Carbon recognizes that consulting foresters have important relationships with forest owners across the U.S. and that these relationships provide consultants with an unmatched understanding of local issues, challenges, and the unique qualities of privately held forests. Finite Carbon seeks to enhance your relationship with your clients by supporting the education, decision making, and planning process as well as lending financial and project management support for developing carbon offsets on qualified foresters.

The Benefits to the Consulting Forester

By working with Finite Carbon, a Consulting Forester can receive:

  • The right to perform all field service work related to the project
  • Education on forest carbon project requirement and inventory design, if necessary
  • Opportunity to engage current Finite Carbon clients for field services work
  • A share of the revenue from carbon offset sales over the life of a project
  • Referral fees at contract signing

In addition, Finite Carbon regularly utilizes the talent of local foresters to implement forest carbon projects and welcomes inquiries from foresters in all regions of the country.

The Benefits to the Landowner

  • Free feasibility study of carbon potential
  • Free property-wide inventory
  • Free property-wide certification under Tree Farmer, SFI, or FSC
  • Complete project development services at no cost to the landowner
  • An additional revenue stream
  • Free brokerage services for the marketing and sale of offsets

Get Started

Each client can receive a free feasibility study with no cost or obligation. In order to qualify for a free feasibility study, the landowner must own at least 1,000 acres, be located in the continental United States, and be willing to share their management plan and inventory data (if available). The Finite Carbon Forestry Team will convert the existing inventory data into a carbon estimate and provide the Consulting Forester with a written proposal. The Consulting Forester can present the proposal directly to the client or in partnership with Finite Carbon.
